Execute sql file into Postgres

Use the following command from shell to execute a sql statement into Postgres DB:

psql -U username -d myDataBase -a -f myInsertFile.sql

To execute as a different user than the current shell user, execute the following that shall prompt you for the user db password:

psql -hlocalhost -U username -d myDataBase -a -f myInsertFile.sql -W
